Cornell Tech's Bloomberg Center
With an acre-sized canopy of solar panels on the roof that provide shade and harvest solar power, a geothermal heating and cooling system, a 40,000-gallon rainwater harvesting system and a green roof planted with native species, the four-story, 160,000-square-foot building aspires to be among the largest Net-Zero energy buildings in the United States. Employing smart building features The Bloomberg Center harnesses lighting controls, occupancy sensors, security, and other intelligent controls to minimize energy usage while fulfilling occupants' needs. The building contains hundreds of door closers, locks and exit devices manufactured by SARGENT.
