Testing Criteria

Listed below are only some of the tests and criteria covered in this standard. For simplification, all tests and details of tests are not elaborated on. For exact and complete details of tests, etc. refer to the complete ANSI/BHMA standard.

1. These products allow swing doors to close upon receiving a signal in fire or smoke emergencies.

2. Upon activation by a signal to the hold-open or free swinging release device, the door shall become self closing.

3. These products shall have been tested and listed for use on fire door assemblies by a nationally recognized testing laboratory (NRTL) and shall be under a follow up in-plant inspection service.

4. Electrical wiring of these products shall be in accordance with the National Electrical Code (ANSI/NFPA 70) for the appropriate class of circuit.
